Section 10 of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Act, 2011: – provides that a citizen by birth and who ceased to be a citizen of Kenya because he or she acquired the citizenship of another country may apply in prescribed manner to the cabinet secretary to regain Kenya Citizenship.
Persons who lost Kenyan citizenship under the old constitution by acquiring citizenship of other countries before 27th, August 2010 are entitled to regain on application by filling and attaching the following:-
Requirements to apply to regain Kenyan Citizenship
- Two copies of Form 1 ‘Regain of Kenya Citizenship form’. Make an online application to regain Kenya Citizenship through https://fns.immigration.go.ke/ then print the forms.
- Copy of Kenyan passport previously held;
- Copy of National Identity Card previously held;
- Copy of birth certificate issued by Government of Kenya at birth;
- Copy of Passport of the other country;
- Three(3) current, clear and un-mounted passport size photographs not less than 6 months.
- Verify that you have the required document/pre-requisites and you meet the relevant criteria before you apply.
- Copy of the certificate of naturalization translated in English.
- A self-address envelope with sufficient stamps or international coupons

• No earing or headgear (no hats)
•Hair should be away from the face
•No eyeglasses

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Applicants wishing to regain their Kenyan citizenship must present themselves with their original passport/ID card/citizenship certificate at the embassy for verification.
